MMHM: Embracing your Age
As women, it seems as though from an early age the notion that youth equals beauty is what society accepts. Youth is often defined as the “best years of your life.” With that being said, I do not think that at 32 I am “old” although I am not a young single 20-something either, yet I am the most confident and happiest that I have ever been.
I love being in my thirties. I personally think that age brings knowledge, perspective and truth, which for many also brings true beauty in various ways. I believe that mostly everyone reaches this moment in their life at some point. For me, that moment has really been in my 30s. I have found that confidence that I believe comes with age and experience to really live my life as I see fit. My priorities have shifted to my children, my husband, my family and my genuine and true friends. I am focused on my own personal health & well being.
For me this means quality time and moments with those that mean the most to me, which is the most important thing. It means letting go of those that were perhaps not really meant to be in this part of my life and it means trying to be the best mother that I can be each day. It means owning my mistakes and learning from them. It means not judging others and starting each day with an open-mind and a clean slate. It means embracing my children for exactly who they are and teaching them to accept themselves and to never change their truth to conform to what someone else tells them to do.
Whether you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s or 50s, embrace you!! Age is just a number, the way you feel about yourself and how you live your life is what really defines you.
Happy Monday 🙂
